After the haul out in Cartagena I delivered the Beauport back to the owner’s home territory, the Sea of Cortez, Mexico. After making the transition over to a new captain and engineer I have taken a break from the Beauport. During this leave of absence I intend to get my personal affairs together, explore other marine related work, and to renew and upgrade my mariner certificates.

I presently am taking training classes at Professional Marine Training facility in Fort Lauderdale. Also networking there and making connections with others to seek out new professional work options.

My present location is Cartagena, Colombia and the vessel is secured to the dock at Club de Pesca Marina.

My main mission now is to research, negotiate prices, and plan a haul out of the ship. This process will take 1 to 2 months and the haul out will be at least 2 weeks.

My location after two months will of course depend on where the best location to “haul out” the ship is determined to be: Could be Colombia, Panama, Venezuela, Trinidad, or Dominca Republic.
